Huge cashe of arms unearthed

Kannur: Police Monday unearthed 10 bombs, other arms, posters and pamphlets of Popular Front from a unoccupied house at Edakkad, near here. Pamphlets carry references of religious fundamentalism. While nine of the bombs were found buried in the ground one was found inside the building. The bomb squad officials said that they were potentially lethal and could have caused massive damages if they went off. The bombs were kept inside plastic buckets. Other arms include nine swords and two knives. There were several posters of SDPI in support of the PDP leader Abdul Nazer Madhani. Police searched the place after the Edakkad SI Sunilkumar got an anonymous call saying that explosives were kept in a building near the Manappad mosque.
