BSNL launches new broadband service THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The BSNL Kerala Circle launched a prepaid broadband service on Wednesday. The major attractions of the service are better control over spending on broadband by the customers and roaming facility, in case they wished to use their account from some other broadband locations. The service comes under two categories – Limited Plan and Unlimited Plan. To become a prepaid broadband customer, one has to apply in the prescribed application form and pay Rs.250 as installation charge and to buy a DSL modem (Rs.1000 for Type 1 modem and Rs.1,600 for Type 2). By this the customers will get a user name and password and will be given 50MB download with a validity of 15 days. The customers can get recharged and get the validity days extended through recharge vouchers of denomination of Rs.300, Rs.550 and Rs.900 for unlimited download/upload. Recharge vouchers For limited download/upload, recharge vouchers of Rs.50, Rs.100 and Rs.250 are available. Like mobile prepaid, validity extension voucher and top-up vouchers are also available.
