THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State secretariat of the DYFI has called for the immediate withdrawal of the Railway Board’s decision to abolish posts in the Railways. In a statement here on Monday, the DYFI pointed out that 1,200 posts were to be abolished in the Southern Railway alone. It wondered how the Centre could give such a direction when, according to the Railways own yardstick, there were several vacancies and the existing staff were over-loaded.
