Mosque at Ground Zero; its for NYC to decide: White House

Washington: The White House has said that it is for the New York City and its people to decide as to what should be at the Ground Zero, as a city panel cleared the way for the construction of a mosque near it, that has cause a political uproar. "I think this is rightly a matter for New York City and the local community to decide," White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters at his daily news conference. "We are not at war with a religion but with an idea that has corrupted a religion. That having been said, I’m not from here going to get involved in local decision-making like that," Gibbs said in response to a question.
