15 principals suspended

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has suspended 15 higher secondary school principals from service for committing irregularities in Plus One admission in the current academic year. The Higher Secondary Director said in an official release here on Wednesday that the principals of RVSM HSS, Prayar; St. Thomas HSS, Malayatoor; SNDP HSS, Udayamperoor; Mount Carmel HSS, Kottayam; Leo XIII HSS, Pulluvila; Vivekodayam HSS, Thrissur; S.N. Trust HSS, Aikarakonam; Mar Basil HSS, Kothamangalam; SS HSS, Moorkanad; St. Thomas HSS, Thankamoni; WO HSS, Pinangode; PKKSM HSS, Kayamkulam; MSM HSS, Kayamkulam; St. Michel’s HSS, Kannur, and VPM SNDP HSS Kazhimbram have been suspended from service. Till last year there was no mechanism to check unauthorised admissions, the director said. After completing the admission process, a centralised admission registry was prepared by collecting the details of the students who secured admission on merit, sports, management and community quotas. The 15 schools reported details of unauthorised admissions. The government would take an appropriate decision about the students who had secured unauthorised admission. Admission malpractices were reported only from 15 out of the 1,262 schools which admitted students using the single-window system, the director added.
